Waldo where are you?

As hard as I tried I couldn't find all the Waldos in the shops participating in the this months contest. I searched and even went through some of the shops item by item. I will have to congratulate the winner ahead of time. This contest was run by the shops with less than 5 sales guild on artfire. I have to say that it was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the next event.

To change the subject I am still finding blogs to send the lovely blog award to and will be adding them to my list.

I went shopping yesterday to add to my supplies and was inspired by some colors that just seem to compliment each other. Sometimes simple is good and I made a great turquoise, red and black necklace and earring set.

Facebook

Did I mention that I'm on facebook? I have a personal page so I'm looking for friends more than for fans. www.facebook.com/susan.fyfe . Let's be friends and have a chat. I always say that you can never have too many friends. What do you think?

To change the subject I'm going to run a contest with a free giveaway one of these days but I haven't figured everything out yet. But, I will!

God Bless and have a great day. Namaste!

And All That Jazz

I went to yoga again today. I try to go at least 3 mornings per week. People say I'm flexible but they don't see the aches I have. Is this the beginning of the end? I just turned fifty and some of my friends call me the baby.
Well, I'm still on all 5 guilds that I joined and trying to stay active. It's alot of work when you don't know what you're doing but I have to say that I get a real feeling of accomplishment when I emerge victorious!!! It's good to figure things out.
I have to say that some of the artists are spectacular and I think that I'm going to start posting some of their sites here and hope that maybe they'll return the favor.
I joined flickr as well and that's a good experience bacause I find it easy to work with. I've started posting some pictures there as well. Look for me at www.jewelrybyfyfe. flickr.com. I also joined another site called ning and this is my favorite of all. I don't know why!! I joined twitter and still haven't seen it's potential. Maybe I'm missing something. I didn't put the links because I have to figure them out. Anyways, I can always come to edit. It's my blog,, ha, ha. And Blah, blah, blah!!! LOL

Stormy weather

Seeing that it's raging today in south florida (lots of lightening) I don't think it's a good idea to fire up the kiln. So, I found some bone beads that were hanging around and put them together with some sterling wire and voila!! I made a pair of earrings

Enameling

I've had a bite to eat and am firing up the kiln to battle with 2 obstinate pieces that are giving me a bit of trouble (color, texture etc). Wish me luck! I have a good feeling. I think I'll start another blog to go through the steps in enameling. Maybe it would interest someone.

guilds etc

I went to yoga this morning at 8:00 and it was a really tough class. Anyway, I wanted to talk about the fact that I haven't posted for a while. That's because I joined a few different guilds on Artfire and am trying to keep up with the requirements of each guild. I never thought I would do anything like this but I am starting to really enjoy the challenge. One of the reasons that it is so challenging for me is that I've never really done much on a computor. I have to say that since I've joined Artfire I have gained so much knowledge that I almost impress myself. This blog is a good example. There are so many talented people and artists it's incredible. I would like to take my hat off to all the guild leaders. Wow, what imagination and I can only imagine the work that goes into everything they do. And, it's all to help us promote each other. All I can say is thank god for the guilds and the incentive they are giving me!!! Well, I'm off to the forums to try and keep up!!! Have a great day.

What Now?

I joined Etsy and Artfire and am waiting for a first sale.I wonder which site will work best for me. I like them both. Very easy to work with especially for someone challenged on a computor like me. I have never typed, bloged, facebooked etc so much in my life. It sometimes gets confusing. At least I'm learning alot and meeting some nice people. I'm very lucky to have run into some great people on Etsy who don't mind sharing their experience. So, check out;

Let me know which one you like. Thanks

Enameling and other jewelry

I started to enamel in the 70's and really loved it. I didn't keep up with it of course. You need time $ etc. Real life was working 9-5 as a service advisor in a car dealership amongst other "exciting" jobs. Now, this is like a dream come true. To be able to create. I'm still new at it and sometimes it takes my breath away, all the endless possibilites!
About 2 years ago I went into a Rag Shop ( craft and hobby store) that was going out of business. They had these little kits to make jewelry. I said to myself "this is for kids but I don't care, I'm buying them anyways". I had so much fun and was proud when I finished the earrings, necklace and bracelet. Wow, these aren't so bad after all. So, this is beading? Don't I start thinking about the past. Enameling. This could be great. So, proudly I have started to create some unique pieces.

Just a little talk

So, this is the first time that I've attempted to blog, so bear with me and I'll try not to bore you. Yesterday, my husband and I walked the beach in Pompano Florida where we live. Ever since one of my friends, who is an amazing artist started collecting rocks to build these enormous panels in cement, I have fallen in love with rocks. They are all so unique. So, to make a long story short, we walked the coastline and found some amazing beach stones for me to create some jewelry with. Imagine finding your supplies in nature!! I love it.
