Finally Finished

Well, I must say that it's been a long 11 days. It went very well and I will definitely be sticking to some kind of maintenance program with these Isagenix products. My last 2 cleanse days were Sunday and Monday and were better than the first 2 cleanse days. I didn't feel sick at all but had to work Monday entertaining and that was a little tough watching everyone pig out on bbq this and that. I was hungry!!!!!!!!! I ate an apple!!!!!!

Final total: lost 12lbs and 15.75 inches. That was sure fast. I feel great. Just recuperating from working. My husband has started to do the cleanse but not the way I did it. A modified version for someone working everyday.

Grand total since seeing www.drcoreycameron.com 30lbs!!! Wow, hard to believe.

Much Love all!! Peace..

Day 5

I'm on day 5 of the cleanse and feeling good. Yesterday I did a 1+1/2hr yoga class and felt great afterwards. I took my breakfast shake, had a great lunch(chicken, veggies, salad) and finished off with a shake at supper. In between I take the snacks provided and a couple of almonds. Today I went to do a rebounding class (trampoline) and that was just fine. No problems. My menu will basically be the same for the next few days and then I'll finish off with another 2 days heavy cleansing. I feel good. Losing weight and gaining energy. Starting to love this cleanse.
Hope that you're enjoying your day as much as I am.

Peace, love and a little bit of joy doesn't hurt either! Take care. Namaste!

I finished my 2 cleanse days! Hurray today I get to eat. I had one crisis at the end of the first day. Terrible heartburn and nausea kept me up all night. It was my own fault because I'm taking pills for my gallbladder and I decided not to take them. BIG mistake. Dr.Corey called me and asked " are you taking your beta tcp". No, I replied. Because I was having a major detox I really needed that gallbladder support. Otherwise it went very well. I wasn't completely exhausted or anything. The drink tastes like *@!& to me so I slugged it down like a shooter and chased with water. Some people like it and some don't. My husband liked the taste.
Now, I'm back on the shake days for 5 days and then 2 more intensive cleanse days.

P.S. I've lost 9 lbs and 10.75 total inches. This is just a plus for me. My goal is health.

Have a nice sunshiney day. Namaste!

It's not a breeze

Here I am. I just had my supper, AKA, 4 ounces of liquid cleanse, one snack and you guessed it, water. Oh, by the way, my husband and mother are now sitting at the supper table eating, T-bone steak, baked potatoe, cauliflower and a salad. Wait, I have to wipe the drool before I continue.
I had a few minor symptoms but nothing terrible. A very slight headache which I got rid of with peppermint oil. A bit of nauseau ( I drank too much water and it was floating in my stomach) A couple slices of apple cured that. A bit of nerves and lightheadedness but nothing that I can't handle. All in all I'm going through periods of fatique and euphoria. One more day of deep cleansing to go and then I'll be back on the 2 shakes and 1 meal for 5 days and 2 final deep cleanse days. Those shakes would taste awful good right now.
Thanks for following my journey. Hope that you had a wonderfull Sunday.
Peace and Love!

2nd day of pre-cleanse

Here I am again. Time for an update. This is my 2nd day of pre-cleanse and I'm feeling pretty good. On the 1st day I had a shake in the morning, a shake for lunch and a nice supper. I was a little jittery but nothing major. I talked to my coach and she said my sugar probably dropped and to eat an apple next time. So, today I woke up in good spirits, not very hungry, but in a bit of pain in my intestines. This is not because of the cleanse but an existing problem and part of the reason for the cleanse. I had a great day, shake, meal, shake and water, water,....! I shall forge ahead nevertheless and am quite anticipating my first real cleanse day tomorrow. It's going to be a bit more rough. No food, no shakes. Just the liquid cleanse, the meal snacks that are part of the program and 6 almonds. Yes, 6 almonds, I kid you not. Wish me luck because I think that I might be needing some. This will last for 2 days and then it's back to 5 days of shakes and 1 meal and 2 more "cleanse" days.
P.S. I bought a trampoline thinking that might shake things up, if you know what I mean.
Have a fantastic day full of peace and love.
Wait, another little P.S. It's my mother's 70th birthday tomorrow and we're having her for supper. I mean my husband and my mother will be eating steak on the BBQ and I'll have.......a lots of water!!!!!!! Namaste!

Isagenix Cleanse

Well, here goes. I'm not a journalist or writer so I guess that I'd appreciate your patience.
I want to talk about what I've been experiencing and hope that it helps someone else.
2 months ago I was so ill that I ended up in the emergency room. The doctors thought that I was having congestive heart failure or a stroke. I was dizzy, in pain. nauseated etc. I went through all the tests and the verdict was vertigo so I was given some anti-nausea pills and sent home. I didn't get much better. I went to my doctor who put me on water pills? Sounds ridiculous. Thank god that I found Dr. Corey Cameron. She helped me with my "gallbladder"
and other problems. I feel so much better. www.drcoreycameron.com check her out.

The 2nd part of my story is that I feel better but still not myself. I'm going on a cleanse and I want to share my journey with you. It's called the isagenix cleanse and is not a diet but a detox.
My website for the product is www.susanfyfe.isagenix.com if you are interested in more info.

Today is day 1 of the pre-cleanse which lasts for 2 days. So far I've had an Isalean shake for breakfast. Lots of water. At lunch I'm supposed to eat a small meal but I'm switching to supper so that I can eat with my husband. In other words, lunch will be another shake. At 2:00 I'll be taking an accelerator capsule. No need to worry, ingrediants are natural things such as apple cider vinegar, cayenne, green tea leaf etc. Lots of water. Finally I'll have a small meal with hubby of fish, veggies and salad. Lots of water. Phew! This is the easy stuff. Everyday I'll keep you informed of my progress.
P.S. I did take a before picture but you'd have to pay me to see it. Ha, ha...
Peace and Love all. Namaste

Sudsy Sue Soap

You all know that awhile back I became interested in making soap and opened up Sudsy Sue Soap. I just love it! Recently a lady who is a well known guild leader and very talented quilter extraordinaire bought some of my soap for christmas presents. Well, much to my surprise she mentioned her purchase on her blog and voila!, I borrowed her avatar. Thanks Virginia Beach Quilter.
P.S. If you're ever looking for some really well made purses, quilts, wallets etc. Check her out.

Cancer

The silent killer. Last year my mother had breast cancer and I went through everything with her. The chemotherapy and the never ending radiology! It went on for over a year. Thank god she is a survivor. I guess what brought this to mind was the fact that a very nice lady who takes yoga with me is one of it's newest victims. She has had a lumpectomy today and thankfully the lymph nodes were negative for cancer. I hope and pray for her. She will win this battle because she is a warrior.
You never think it touches you until it does. Food for thought.
Send prayers to Pat!!! Thank you! Have a great day.

Peace and Love! Namaste.

A peek

Good morning all. Well, I couldn't resist and had a peek at my soap. It seems to have set really nicely but I'll still wait another day before slicing it and then, letting it cure for 4-6 weeks! This is some process. I think the finished product will make it worthwhile.

It's sunny and hot, hot, hot here in South Florida! Hope you're having a sunny day by you!

Peace and Love, Namaste!

Finally, soap from scratch!!!Yay!!!!!!!!!!

I took the plunge today. Yes I did. I was putting it off and of course I was afraid because there were so many steps to follow and I wanted this to be perfect!
It took me all afternoon and I'msure experienced soapers do this in an hour. Now, I just wrapped the baby in a towel to keep it warm and in a few hours I'll check on the progress.

These are my ingrediants; olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil, lye(sodium hydroxide) distilled water. I also added Lavender Essential Oil and some color.

I can't wait. I'll let you know what happens. Cross your fingers for me.

Peace and Love. Namaste!!

Over The Hill/Happy 4th of July

What happens when you hit fifty? I always told myself that it was just a number and wouldn't change anything in my life. What a rude awakening! I do feel it. I hate it. My body won't let me do some of the things it used to do. Is this for real? I'm slowly starting to accept and deal with the changes although I find it hard. Thank god for yoga helping me stay sane (if you can call me sane). Okay, breath, breath!

I finally received my shipment of oils etc. to make my first batch of soap. I just have a couple more items to get and I'll be off to the races. I guess that I'm what you could call "a procrastinater" it should be my middle name.

We were out walking the dogs this morning and it was only 7:30 and already so hot and muggy. This is when I miss Montreal.

Last but not least HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY ALL!!! I'm going to be doing some singing and deejaying at a small party(bbq). Hope you all have a great day. Let's celebrate our independance!!

Peace and Love. Namaste!!

Spirituality, Soap and what more can you ask for?

So, it's been such a long time since I've written on my blog that I probably have too much to say.

I'm still dedicated to my yoga practice and particularly love the spiritual side of it as well as the asanas (poses)..See, I'm starting to sound like a yogini!!! Ha..... I do the best that I can but sometimes have difficulty keeping up. Sore wrists, oh,,, and sore every else. Is this what happens in your 50's???

The news is that I had a very lucrative winter which kept me rather busy (and out of trouble) with esthetics, jewelry and soap. I was really surprised at how many customers I had for facials and waxing. I guess that it doesn't hurt to let people in on what you do!

The jewelry was alright, I made a few custom pieces and although I am an enamelist swarovski crystals seem to be very popular right now. Is this a phase???????????

Soap is a blast and now.....tada........I will finally attempt to make some cold process from scratch and be able to offer an even better, greener and more natural product. Although I buy from some very credible companies with good quality I'll personally be proud to do my part for the ecology.

Talking about the ecology, what about the oil spill near the panhandle?? It brings tears to my eyes when I see the devastation to nature especially the wild inhabitants. One of my biggest fears is that the oil heads on down to south-east florida where I reside.

Well, I think that you all have had enough of me today so I'll let you know how the soap turns out. I can't wait.

Peace, love and namaste!!!!!! Have a great day!!

Chilly

Good morning all. I have to say that it's been a cold winter over here in South Florida. In the 50s today and the 40s tomorrow. I feel sorry for the tourists who are visiting for short periods of time. As for myself, I love it!!!!!! We had a really hot summer and I can appreciate the change. It does feel weird to wear a scarf and coat.
Anyways, I just want to wish everyone a great Valentines day tomorrow. Lots of Peace and Love everyone. Namaste!

Hello again Hello!

It's been awhile. Who has something to say everyday?
I went to the library this past summer, always looking for something new and decided to make some soap. It wasn't as easy as it looked so after some research I ordered some melt and pour. I didn't want any cheaply made item from the craft stores (at 3X the price anyways) so I found a couple of great companies. Brambleberry,Camden Grey and recently, Snowdrift Farms. how did I find them you ask? By talking in the forums with soap pros on artfire and etsy. Only problem with brambleberry is sweaty soap. (something to do with the temperature when shipping?)
I then went to a fair in the fall and took 2 tables; 1 for jewelry and 1 for soap. Wow!!!!!!!! The soap was a big hit!!!!! So, without further ado:::::::

http://www.sudsysuesoap.etsy.com/

Wish me luck. Oh, that's buddha. Yes a soapy happy version!! Yay.
P.S. I'm still making jewelry!!
Peace and Love. Namaste!!!!!

Why I love facebook

I seriously love facebook. I recently joined and have gotten in touch with so many of my old friends and best of all, one of my cousins contacted me this week. It's nice to know what's going on in peoples lives years later. Also, now I have an artfire kiosk and an etsy store where people can shop and pay without having to register on other sites.

My winter has been busy with singing and entertaining, making jewelry and of course one of my favorite things, skincare. I'm an esthetician and aromatherapist by profession and the snowbirds are keeping me occupied. Summer is when I concentrate more on enameling. It's amazing how quiet the summer is in Florida. It sure took me awhile to get used to.

I did return to my yoga practice yesterday and it felt good to see all my girlfriends. We are doing a fundraiser Saturday at Golds Gym in fort lauderdale. All the proceeds are going to the red cross for Haiti.

Peace and Love all. Namaste!!!

Been Neglecting the blog

I want to wish everyone a belated happy New Year 2010. I was a little under the weather for over a month and seriously have neglected my blog amongst other things.
I guess that I have some catching up to do.
My last sale was an Om enamel pendant that I had made. I was particularly proud to sell a piece that was 100% handmade and that has some meaning. Now, I'm working on a enamel piece with the chinese sign eternity handpainted on it. I think that it's a good idea for pieces to have a message.
I haven't even been to my yoga classes but tomorrow will attempt to return to my regular schedule. I have really missed the peace that yoga brings to my life as well as my yogini sisters who I see at least 3 times a week.
Peace, Love and Namaste all!! Take care!

New Om Copper Enamel Pendant

Ever since I decided to attempt making an Om pendant for a giveaway, I wanted to try and make another. Well, there it is. The supreme symbol, Mother of Sound Om speaks to the universal sound of peace and divine. I'm so happy that I made this pendant and that it turned out the way it did.
Peace and Love. Namaste!! Ommmmmmm..............................

Have a great day.

Singing Partner Back

Did I ever tell you that I sing at parties and sometimes nightclubs? Well, yes I do. I sing whatever the occasion calls for. Country, pop, rock, etc. I even sang opera last year with a big choir. The thing is, I don't like to work alone and my partner is away for 6 months of the year because she goes back to Quebec. Well, she's back and now we start practicing.

i started singing about 20 years ago at small functions and then ended up doing a few supper clubs back home in laval, Quebec, Canada.

When I first started I used to sing in quite few retirement homes and was always in costume, hello dolly, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Celine Dion or Barbra Streisand but.......

Have a great day filled with peace and Love. Namaste

Spirituality

I really have started to get more into yoga. I love the ashtanga yoga that we are doing because it's very challenging so I don't get bored. We are blessed with an amazing teacher because she brings so many different aspects to our practice. Breathing, meditating, challenging asanas, really fast flows and best of all, she is a very spiritual being. I feel that I can learn and grow from this practice more than anything else I've ever done. I feel love sitting in my heart more and more. Call me weird, I don't care.
May peace and love find a place to sit in your heart today. Namaste

spin

I'm off to the gym. I want to lift some weight, pump that iron before my spin class. Yesterday I took my regular ashtanga yoga 1+1/2 class and I can sure feel it today.
I listed a few new enamels and some wirewrap this weekend so I feel that I've accomplished something. I gave in and enameled in the heat.
I've started a new hobby, soapmaking. Right now I've just bought some good melt and pour from Brambleberry but I'm working up the nerve to try and make some from scratch. It's a lot of fun and being an aromatherapist I have tons of essential oils that can be used in the process. I like the fact of making my own soap from scratch and it being natural and beneficial to my skin. I bought some molds and have already given away some really nice soap. I even made some buddha soap!! I did grow and dry my own herbs that I've used in some of the soap. ex. lavender, rosemary, thyme umm they smell sooo good.
The point is that I'm really tired of all the chemicals that surround us and anything that I can contribute to make my planet greener I'm game for
May peace and love sit in your heart today. Namaste!

No conclusion Etsy Artfire

Do you have a favorite place? I'm still on both etsy and artfire and can't decide where to stay. Some people tell me that it's better to have more than one site but I might be one of those individuals who does better with one shop to concentrate on.
I like things about both. It does seem that etsy is starting to go down the tubes. The share your item function has been removed and here's artfire adding new tools to help the sellers. Things aren't looking up.
To change the subject, I did manage to make a few new enameled pieces this week. I had been putting it off and waiting for cooler weather but that isn't in the near future with record breaking highs in south florida. I enamel outside and with the hot kiln and temperatures, whew!! We had a couple of cooler days a few weeks ago and boy, did that feel good. I see from my coments that some fellow floridians were also enjoying the very brief reprieve from the oppressive heat.
I've been pretty dedicated to my yoga practice and feel the difference in my life. Yoga's not only about the physical but the spiritual and I must say that we have a very gifted and caring yoga teacher. I feel blessed to have her.
As for the guilds, I don't know which ones I'm going to stay on. Another choice. It seems that there isn't a lot of participation on some of them and I don't want to be the patsie for others. I feel that I would like to support other artists when I really appreciate their work and not because it's their turn on the list!
Well, I guess that's enough blah, blah for one day!
Peace, love and Namaste to all!!

Yes.... Finally, cooler weather

I can't believe that we are finally having a cold front in south florida. It was an excruciatingly hot summer. I know that this beautiful weather probably won't last but I sure intend to enjoy it while it's here. Can you believe that we went from 95 degrees to 53 degrees all in the space of 24 hours? That's a 40 degree difference!!! Wow!!

Oops, almost forgot about Waldo. This month it's really worth playing because each paticipating member of the artfire shops with less that 10 sales is donating a percentage or amount to their foundation of choice. Personally I'm donating $2 from any sales that I have this month to the breast cancer research. My mom just finished her treatments and is a survivor so I think it's a great cause. Playing the Waldo game is free and you win a great prize.
Please check it out here!! www.shopswithlesssalesartfire.blogspot.com and good luck!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Well, we all know that this is breast cancer awareness month. But, it never quite touched me as it did last year. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and only recently finished chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It was, needless to say, a very hard year. Luckily, I was able to be with my mother through this terrible ordeal because I live very close by. Thankfully, she is a survivor. There is little enough that I can do to help this terrible disease but in honor of those less fortunate and my mother I will be donating $2 from avery sale that I have in the month of October. I'm not selecting certain items and this applies to any item in either my etsy or artfire shop.

Maybe together we can someday make a difference.

Peace, love and Namaste to all!
