Irked

I have to be completely honest even if some people could be offended. I am always on the forums on Etsy and Chatterbox on Artfire and I'm so tired of people whining. Especially this one: Please critique my shop, sales are slow. So, when I go in to look at their shops, they have something like 30,000 sales and, beautifull shops that I would die for. Hello, what is this a pity party? I have 3 sales on Etsy and 1 on Artfire. I'm not complaining. I keep a positive attitude and try to work as hard as I can promoting!! Whew! That feels good. People should be thankful and appreciate when they've got it good. Sorry! Not really.

Oh well, other than that I've had a great day. I think I'm starting to like this blog thing!

Nothing personal. PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!

  1. The forums are, unfortunately, a way of self-promotion. Many times the whiners that have lots of sales, a zillion hearts and a beautiful shop with a number of pages, aren't really whining, they're simply trying to increase their views, add more hearts and, with luck, make more sales. Sometimes I feel it is very unfair to those who are newer on etsy and who's shops have very low views and sales...I haven't even had a 100 HEARTS yet and will probably celebrate when I reach my 10th sale !
This should make you laugh, I got 2 sales today, was so excited. But one sale was for 1 item at $0.75 + $1.00 postage...went to mail it and the post office charged me $1.22 (it was in a standard letter size envelope, but I didn't think to argue with the USPS). So between the postage, etsy's fees, paypal's fees, and packaging I ended up losing about $0.57 on the sale. LOL Well I'll chalk it up to promotional cost...maybe they'll come back and make a bigger order next time. :)

  3. I completely agree. I understand we all get down sometimes, but I could do without the whining as well. I like your honesty :)

  4. Thank you...it's nice to hear I'm not alone on my thinking. We do all get down from time to time but it does get tiring seeing the people that are regularly doing business (meaning multiple orders a day) running over the little guys that are luck to get a sale a week.

  5. I agree....I see a post about someone saying how much etsy sucks and then look at their shop and they have 500 sales. I refrain from making a comment, lol! I guess for people like us, with lower sales, we truly appreciate every one we get. At least Im trying to look at it that way and remain positive :)

  6. I agree... people should just be positive and not feel the need to beg for sales... its a bit weird.
